Poetry displays a feeling
Set inside a form.
It might be anything at all-
So long as it conforms.
“Free Verse” is an oxymoron-
For verse is never free.
Liberated syllables
Would make this easier for me.
To try and take emotion
And bind it hand and foot-
May work for Shakespeare, Brown, and Chaucer
But I’d rather write a book.
I know what you are thinking-
“This is cheap verse through and through”
But would you try for too much else
Were this commanded of You?

Sleep Hurts,
Yet life is tired.
Why should I walk this boggy mire?
A honeyed voice,
still cracks and strains.
Why is life so full of pains?
Decisions to make,
a future to plan.
Why is it always placed in my hands?
The quicker decision,
the longer I wait.
My-oh-my, isn't life just great?

His unitary presence had never failed to stop me in the hall.
His mind-bending antics have never ceased to amuse us all.
His stilted charm and true charisma always make me smile.
They are never overlapping,
not vices but oppositely just.
The One is an unatainable ideal-
gone beyond my grasp.
Two has been so rolliking.
Three has shed his skin.
If only First would return again.
I would still be very flustered.
I would still feel so unreal.
But I'd have that comfy thrill..
One day,
Some way,
Eventually.
Watching you,
Listening too,
Always.
Wistful thinking
never helped
anyone.
